In a typical first session, we will meet over video (Zoom, FaceTime, ie) and we will get acquainted to see if we are a good fit. I like to take my time to understand what your priorities are, and to begin to understand your history. I will invite any questions you have for me. And then, we begin to work.
In a typical session, we start with safety. We consider when do you most feel like yourself. We look at what is still working and harness that to call in the parts of you that perhaps feel less alive or less like you want them to be.
Some sessions will be a nuts and bolts discussion of anatomy and specific self-care routines that you can begin to incorporate right away.
Clients often appreciate combining modalities during our phone sessions, as I facilitate this rewarding journey of inner healing and discovery. You'll find thorough descriptions on the other pages of this site.
What I learned from Mr Rogers
I understand the body as a whole, living vehicle. If we touch into a thoracic nerve, we are also
communicating with the entire nervous system, not just a tiny piece. Some of my inspiration
comes from Mr Rogers, and his ‘Won’t you be my neighbor?”. It seems to me that organs and
systems within the body are like neighborhoods. If a liver is inflamed, and the sirens and
firetrucks are coming to put out the fire, NOBODY is going to get any sleep. All of the body responds to a cry for help.
I have been talking with bodies this way for many decades. We look for helpers, as Mr Rogers
once said. And the helpers are never far away.
